James Mitchell

Pastor James joined Pioneer Church in the Summer of 2022. James is originally from West Virginia where he was born and raised. He has been married to his wife April since 2006 and they have two daughters together. He has been involved in ministry since he was a teenager and has served in several bi-vocational ministry roles since then. James has worked in Emergency Services since being in high school and continues his passion for that profession as an educator. He currently teaches as a professor in a few different collegiate paramedic programs. He continues to engage with EMS, Fire, and Police personnel as a counselor and peer when and as needed. James has a M.A. in Theological Studies, a M.A. in Pastoral Counseling, and a Ph.D. in Education Administration. He enjoys reading, hiking, camping (well glamping in a camper), and spending time with his family.
